Tour de France Week 1 Overview
Week 1 is complete of the Tour de France and the beautiful regions of the north-west of France have been the backdrop for the first 7 stages. It was a week of sprints, crashes and mechanical issues with most top tier riders being affected. The only riders who came out on stage 8 untouched were Gearing Thomas, Alejandro Valverde and Mikel Linda.
Team SKY - a prominent team - came into the Tour with 2 leaders, Thomas and Froome. With Froome behind Thomas by 59 seconds, stage 9 will play a big role in determining who will come out on top.
Tomorrow we have a real game changer and a real test for the riders, cobbles and 21.7km of them. A small crash could set them back miles which will provide great watching. A third of the way through and lots of action, let’s see how the next 13 stages go.
