Selles Sur Cher 150g Raw Milk
For fifty years and three generations, the Jacquin family has been producing goat cheeses. Based in the Loire Valley region, where the climate is mild their goat cheese taste is so fine that we understand why Kings settled in the Loire and Cher rivers valleys.
It can be eaten quite young and has a lovely fresh flavour; when aged its texture turns quite soft and creamy with stronger citrus and hazelnut flavours. Mild and creamy, Selles-sur-cher, is a goats' milk cheese that has a small amount of ash dusted onto it to encourage mould to grow and to protect the cheese inside.
To try with Loire white wines of course, such as Sancerre or Pouilly-Fume.
