Description
Rieussec, owned by Château Lafite Rothschild, is one of the finest Sauternes available. The vineyards reach an altitude of 78m above sea level, which is quite high for the Bordeaux region, and only Château d’Yquem has vineyards above this. The wine is exceptionally fresh for Rieussec, due to the Sauvignon Blanc blended in which influenced a shorter barrel aging of only 18 months. This is an unusual vintage of Rieussec and one that will develop well in the coming years.
