Montezargues

Montezargues

As early as 1199, Prieure de Montezargues was a fully functioning monastery with the monks having already established a water source and a functioning water mill.

Owned by the Richard family, such as Chateau La Nerthe (Chateauneuf-du-Pape) and Domaine de la Renjarde (Cotes du Rhone Villages) since 1983, the property covers 34 hectares, deep in a corner of Provence, sheltered from the Mistral winds by the Montagne Noire, in the Tavel AOC. Planted to eight grape varieties - mainly Grenache, Cinsault and Clairette - the entire vineyard is certified Organic by Ecocert.

Ralph Garcin joined Chateau La Nerthe team as Managing Director effective January 2016 and now is the winemaker and manager of all three estates.
