Located in the Cote de Nuits between Marsannay and Gevrey Chambertin, Domaine Pierre Gelin covers about 13 hectares in the Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin appellations. Founded in 1925 by Pierre Gelin, the domain is now running by his grand-son Pierre-Emmanuel Gelin.
To ensure a supply of high quality fruit Pierre-Emmanuel pays particular attention to the cultivation methods by using natural fertilizers from organic agriculture, and working manually on the vines. Pierre-Emmanuel is environmentally conscious and follows the principles of organic farming without having sought certification. This traditional approach to winemaking produces remarkable, well-structured wines whose qualities are fully revealed after a few years of aging.
