Puig Parahy

Puig Parahy

In 1446 Etienne Parahy became the first owner of vineyards in this Aspres area between the Canigou mountain and the Mediterranean, and 18 generations later in 1980 George Puig inherited the family domaine. This estate in Passa ten hilly mile  southeast of Perpignan is like a time capsule, filled with ancient documents, ancient paraphernalia, and most importantly ancient fortified wines. The reds grown on a mixture of chalk-clay and schist offer exceptional value while the fortified whites are some of the worlds greatest.
