Espiers
The vineyards at Espiers have been owned by the family since 1879, but it wasn’t until 1989 that the young, tall handsome Philippe Cartoux founded Domaine des Espiers. A work of passion, Philippe is unswerving in his dedication to both the region and the appellation. In 2011, he has converted the vineyard to organic methods as well as reducing yields dramatically.
Today the domain covers 9.5 ha including 3 ha of Gigondas, 2.5 ha of Sablet and 4 ha of Côtes du Rhône. Philippe Cartoux is married to the owner of Domaine de Montvac, Cécile Dusserre, where he is also in charge of the work in the vineyards.
