Ch Moulinet Lasserre
Two properties have been combined here, Clos Rene and Chateau Moulinet Lasserre, both today under the management of the well-respected Pomerol figure Jean-Marie Garde, who took over in 1982.
The terroir here is not as rich in clay as some parts, with a sandier, more gravelly component, and these warmer soils helps in the ripening of the grapes. 70% of the vineyard is planted with merlot, 20% with cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon. The wines are aged in 25% new oak and are bottled after fining but without filtration.
