In the first editions of « Bordeaux and its wines » by Edward Feret, we find that the Cru of Tauzinat belonged before 1789 to the Carles family, an armed forces general under King Louis XVI. Surrounded by the most prestigious growths of the area, its vineyard produces a very well regarded wine, awarded a silver medal by the international jury for the 1889 world fair.
It was in 1953 that Antoine Moueix acquired this estate ordained with a rich past and recognized terroir for several centuries.
Located on the plateau of Saint-Emilion, the Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage has one of the best terroirs of the Bordeaux right bank. With 9 ha of Merlot and Cabernet Franc on a clay and limestone soil, this vineyard gives a seductive wine with a beautiful aromatic complexity.
