This week the press and the trade converge on Bordeaux for the barrel tastings of the 2025 vintage.
In a world presently full of uncertainty, there is something immensely reassuring about nature's ability to create the extraordinary - the 2025 vintage in Bordeaux.
One word encapsulates this vintage - REMARKABLE
The Reds
Brilliant opaque colour
Remarkable density and substance
Polished, tactile tannins
Perfectly ripe black fruit profile
The Whites
Aromatically pure and intense
Vivid salinity and minerality
Precise natural acidity
Amazing balance
Sweet wines
Flawless botrytis set
Precision and balance
Hedonistic richness
Understated elegance
It is hard to put into words the outstanding quality of this vintage, which undoubtedly will become a benchmark. Over the next two months the Chateaux will offer their wines En Primeur (while still in barrel). Prices will rise but not dramatically, the world currently wouldn't accept that, and we see 2025 as an opportunity not just for the collector but the drinker. There will be many bargains which we will be finding for you, a must for Bordeaux lovers.

FAQs
Explore everything you need to know about securing the world's most sought-after wines before their official release. Below are the answers to frequently asked questions regarding our Wine En Primeur 2025 offering.
En-Primeur - also known as "wine futures" - is the opportunity to purchase top Bordeaux wines while they are still aging in barrel at the Châteaux. This centuries-old system allows wine lovers and collectors to access the newest vintage before it's bottled and released to the wider market.
Buying En-Primeur gives you early access to some of the world's most sought-after wines, often at the most favourable price. It's the best way to secure limited allocations of prestigious labels, ensure perfect provenance, and be part of the vintage from the very beginning.
Each year, Bordeaux Châteaux release their wines for En-Primeur during a short campaign - usually in May or June.
Here's how it works:
- You place your request through Maison Vauron, selecting from our curated releases. During the campaign, we will release 1-3 offers per week. Make sure you're signed up to our newsletter and select "En Primeur" as one of your mail preferences to hear about these offers.
- Your request is submitted through our website to our buyer.
- Once your request has been reviewed and approved, you will be sent an invoice for the first price payment.
- The wine remains at the Châteaux to mature in barrel for around 18–24 months.
- Once bottled and shipped, you will be sent an invoice for the second price payment.
- Your wine is available for collection or delivery, ready to cellar or enjoy. Santé!
- Access to exclusive and often limited-release wines
- Preferential pricing compared to post-release bottles
- Provenance assurance, with your wine shipped direct from the Châteaux
- Cellar-building potential with the world's most celebrated producers
- Investment opportunities, particularly in excellent vintages
