Description

Abbaye de Tamie is a French cheese made by the monks at the Trappist Abbey of Tamié since the 12th century. The abbey is located in the Savoie region of southeastern France.

This very rare Trappist cheese also goes by the name "Trappiste de Tamie," has much in common with the beloved Reblochon. Made of cows' milk, it is aged in humid cellars. Tamie de Savoie has a distinct lactic burst and robust fruity, nutty flavours, common to cheeses of Savoie.

It pairs well with Beaujolais, Chardonnay or Merlot.
