St Nectaire Auvermont AOC

St Nectaire Auvermont AOC

Stock Code:

Saint-Nectaire is a French cheese made in Auvergne since at least the 17th century. Up until the 17th century, the Saint-Nectaire cheese was farmstead, and mostly made by women. It was introduced to the court of King Louis XIV where the cheese immediately gained the king’s favour.

AOC awarded, St. Nectaire has a grey/brown rind, dotted with white, yellow patches. The creamy, supple, silky textured paste melts in the mouth to reveal flavours of nuts, hay, cellars and mushroom.

St. Nectaire is an excellent choice for a cheese board, and makes outstanding pies. It goes extremely well with fruits, raw vegetables, olives, bread, and salami.
