Description
One of the older plots, this was planted in 1967 on limestone soils and is aged in large oak barrels, 25% of which are new.
A fruity and expressive nose is composed mostly of violet, plum and dark cherry scents. There is a hint of earth present on the sleek, delicious and quite supple middle weight flavours that tighten up slightly on the mildly austere finale. This could easily be enjoyed just after release but the ageing has made the wine very supple with savoury notes really shining through now.
